I'm kind of neutral on Roger Davis....I can take him or leave him. Some characters of his I like better than others.

I liked Peter Bradford and Dirk Wilkins
especially after Barnabas turned him into a vampire.
I did'nt care too much for the character Dirk Wilkins.

I think I may have exaggerated a bit as far as Dirk went (at least when the guy was still normal). I don't think I liked him so much as I could tolerate him a lot more than Ned and Tate.

In my family, he's usually referred to as Dirk the Jerk.

You have a very DS-informed family... good for you!

Dirk confronting Judith about their "change of relationship" was fun.

Bradford was good but a bit too true-blue for me.

Tate I like, especially at age 100 or so.    Tate wasn't just belligerent with nothing further to his personality.    Ned was just some unimaginative jerk in a sports coat.    Tate got worked up over more interesting problems, and had to deal with more interesting situations, that he had to try to wrap his head around.    He had legitimate things to get testy or stressed by, not that Ned didn't, but Tate's dilemmas and his reactions were more involving, to me.   Maybe I just like that he's an artist.

RD is at his best when he gets to go crazy.... later Dirk, centegenarian Tate.

I've really enjoyed all the remarks about Davis in response to my question. He was at a festival I went to and I had no interaction with him at all. He was entertaining on stage, but I guess he rubs some people the wrong way. If nothing else, he's a funny topic of conversation.

RD has said that he's aware of what online fans think about him, so it's a possibility. Though this is hardly the only place online where topics similar to the ones that are posted here have been discussed. There must be hundreds of posts about him in the DS Usenet group archives - posts that are far, far worse than anything here - posts that cross the line into insulting, actually....

The hysterically funny thing would be if he'd visited here while the whole touching his hair tally was displayed right on the BoardIndex page.  [ghost_cheesy]
