The writers went a little overboard in their evocation of The Devil and Daniel Webster. Didn't Trask say something like "We are all members of the Damned"? Yes indeed, it's there in the ever-useful Robservations: Trask says "like all the rest of us in this court, he is one of the damned". And you can be sure that Trask
never
thought he was one of the damned - quite the contrary! Never mind, I love that so-called trial anyway. Trask is a consistent character: before death or after, there's nothing he likes better than rigging a trial.
I'm sure that Maude Browning wasn't played by the original actress - Vala Clifton, if I remember correctly - and I'm pretty sure that Ruby Tate wasn't either, but I'm not so sure about Suki Forbes. She had the right look about her, but we didn't get a close enough look for me to tell.
Why oh why did Maggie go off to Bangor for several days when her father was newly blind? And apparently Joe had been leaving Sam pretty much to his own devices as well. I know Sam hates being babysat, but surely somebody could have checked in on him more often.
Gosh, Robert Rodan's good at what he does.

I think that was the original Suki Forbes in here. I took a look close up to the screen and she looked remarkably like the Suki we saw in 1795.
Good point about Trask good at rigging trials. I don't think he ever intended for the verdict on Barnabas to be anything BUT guilty.
This is one of my favorite episodes.

Yes, indeed, this was a scary episode!
It seems silly to have all those ghosts come, but Nathan Forbes spoke for all of them. Too bad Dan Curtis didn't want to pay them all.
It was still rather effective, though. Barnabas was helpless to do anything, just like his victims were all those years ago. By the time Julia got there, all the ghosts were gone, and Barnabas was bricked up behind the wall!
Sam sure made progress with Adam's teachings.
A little kindness goes a long way.
It was pretty exciting how Adam knew Barnabas was in trouble, and could feel the shackles around Barnabas' wrists.
Too bad Adam wasn't able to communicate to Sam and Joe just what was going on.
Adam sure was strong - he threw Joe aside to the ground like he was a hollow doll.

I loved Nathan's cocky smile when he first arrived!
