Paul Giamatti as Tony Peterson(present) and Revrend Trask (1795)

I thought about Paul Giamatti as Willie Loomis. And if you wanted a scuzzy, ratty Willie Loomis, I can't imagine anyone better than Steve Buscemi.

Interesting article, thanks for posting is Lori!

I agree with much of what he's said except that whoever plays Vicki will be crucial too, especially if the story is written from her point of view entering Collinwood, much like all three series have begun. If it isn't, and Vicki is mostly a secondary character or worse, only seen a few times, who gives a hoot who plays her. But I think that she'll probably be important to the plot if they do it in the present.

Finally came up with my cast list - LOL!  (Yes, a realistic one, not my vampire movie musical ultimate fantasy -- sigh.  LOL!!)   Liked a lot of the suggestions I already saw here, so included a lot of them. :)

Marianne Muellerlalle -- Mrs. Johnson
Shia LaBeouf -- Willie
Jude Law or Heath Ledger -- Quentin
Anne Hathaway -- Vickie
Jane Seymour -- Elizabeth
Naomie Harris -- Angelique
Daniel Craig -- Roger
Keira Knightly or Brittany Snow -- Carolyn
Judy Davis -- Julia Hoffman
Jake Gyllenhaal -- Joe
Abigail Breslin -- Sarah
John Goodman -- Sam
Katie Holmes -- Maggie

Haven't come up with a David.  Maybe the boy in that "Joshua" movie?

Thanks for posting the link, Lori. And I completely agree with him about Julia, Willie and Angelique (and with Brandon about Vicki) being pivotal characters. BUT he most definitely needs to abandon the notion that loving DS is somehow shameful!!  >:(

Hey Markyboo, very sadly I think Steve Buscemi is now too old to play Willie.  I just saw him in a hilarious cameo bit in the new movie Paris je t'aime.

If you've never seen him in his first breakthrough role in the 1980s movie Parting glances, do try and track it down.  It's somewhat obscure but soooo stunningly good!

Marianne Mullerlelie!
GREAT idea!
Lori, do you watch her on Passions?

She's GREAT as Norma, Norman Bates' PSYCHOtic lesbian sister!
LOL!

Shia Le Bouef~~cute as a button but too young to be Willie!

Wouldn't Anne Hathaway make a nice Vicki?

I have seen PARTING GLANCES! It is a superb film & one of the earliest films to have the courage to talk about AIDS. I think I still have a copy of the movie on videotape.

Judy Davis is a divine choice for Julia Hoffman!

How about Hugh Jackman as Quentin?

boy anne hathaway is getting high marks as a nice choice for victoria.someone should contact her agent.

in the span of a two hour movie i don't think that they're going to bother with alot of "secondary" characters.if vicki is on board she's going to be pivotal so casting her well is crucial.

and yes julia, willie and angelique will be critical as well.even though liz will probably end up being a small,cameo-like role i'm very curious to see who they cast.

If any of you are fans of the tv show "Lost" then you already know that Josh Holloway (Sawyer) was BORN  to play Quentin Collins, he has the attitude down to a tee....

I think Burton is the obvious choice for directors, but I would recommend David Fincher (Seven, Fight Club, Zodiac) All his films at the core are character pieces, and that would be perfect for DS

I think they also need to cast one of the original actors in the series in the movie, possibly David Selby as Roger or Jonathan Frid in a small cameo

I would also like to see Megan Fox (Transfomers) as Angelique, just look at her eyes and tell me she doesn't have the "look" of Angelique.......(you can dye her hair blonde to appease the hardcore fans)

I also think Crispin Glover would be perfect for Willie if they are willing to roll the dice with him...(he's crazy)

Have never seen passions.  Been working  and am a New's Junkie. Have my VCR on my shows while am at work.  Now don't have Direct TV, and only DSL.

Did someone say that we should contact her agent,  how about Johnny Depp with the suggestion.  Or maybe we should invite him to come to the forum.  Or maybe he is already here and just doesn't speak up.  8)
