I've heard of late that the producers of the classic Trek eps are going to 're-work' the special effects, clean them up and make them less 'cheesy' looking, then re-release all 3 seasons to DVD. They're apparently also going to rework the opening theme song. It's because of this, I'm guessing, that the astronomical prices on these 3 seasons, over $100 for each set, have drastically been reduced. I was at Costco yesterday and found all 3 seasons for $45 each, a MUCH more reasonable price (just glad I waited them out).
Anyway, if you are a Trek fan and a 'purist' like me who LIKES the cheesy effects and the original theme song, head on over to your local Costco and pick them up before they are all gone. BTW, Amazon has them too, for a couple bucks more (like $47) if you're not a Costco member. I'm sure Best Buy will follow suit soon as well although as of yesterday when I looked at their site they were still $106.
