Collinsport Historical Society: Gone?
« on: September 17, 2025, 06:32:42 PM »
The Collinsport Historical Society, run by the very talented Wallace McBride, seems to have gone the way of the dinosaur. It was a very good web page. The news was always accurate. Some of Wallace's creative contributions were so clever that sometimes you weren't quite sure that they weren't real. On a post dated August 12, 2025, someone named Lloyd Diaz announced that the page is no longer about the history of Dark Shadows. Its goal is now to help people gamble with crypto currency, such as Bitcoin.
Did someone hack into the page? I think that Diana Millay's site was taken over by ads for viagra through disuse after Diana's passing. The Collinsport Historical Society's Facebook page and blogspot are still DS oriented. Anyone have any more information about this?

It’s interesting that the last blog post was Monday, “February 6, 2023”
Or at least when you click on the home button it’s the first blog article listed

Odd that they would have had a web page when the blog is essentially a web page.

Yes, that site has been inactive for a long time. Though, thankfully, the old stuff is still accessible.

As for any hacking, who knows?
