Okay, I know this has been asked/covered, but today's ep, #136, Mr. Gardner looks like Phoebe Tyler (kiss-kiss) WALLINGFORD's 1st husband, ____Tyler (Link? he was the son, so I'm assuming).

It's not the same actor, right? (Because the timeline is approx. 10 years apart.)

The senior Garner was played by Hugh Franklin, and yes, he was Dr. Tyler on AMC (Charles Sr., actually).  His children with Phoebe were Linc and Ann, and he had Chuck (Charles II) with his first wife.  His third marriage was to his assistant, who was also Erica's mom, but you knew that.  ;)

The actor was married to author Madeleine L'Engle until his death; they met while doing a play in NY.  My kids adored her books.

That's cool and it's a cross-over. I've never heard of Madeleine L'Engle...

I had forgotten that he married ((Mona)). Wow...I'm reaching waaaay back.

Thanks Midnite, and MB for the great pic.

Patti dear, Madeleine L'Engle wrote A Wrinkle in Time--one of the great children's books of the Sixties, which I've never forgotten.  There were several sequels, too, and she also wrote a memoir about her marriage to Hugh Franklin.  In the memoir she reveals that a good friend and sometime roomie of hers was none other than Cavada Humphrey, who played Madam Findlay, the medium who tried to rid Collinwood of Quentin's ghost in 1969.  According to Madeleine, Cavada Humphrey was just as flamboyant in life as she was on the screen!

cheers, Steve
