WITHOUT the intervention of any supernatural powers, what would be the outcome of a chess game (or other strategy game) between these 2 characters?

Prof. Stokes winning.

I like to believe that good will prevail over evil, and since Stokes is my favorite character, I voted for him.  However, I think it's more likely that a stalemate will occur (or Petofi will cheat.)

Stokes would win, much to Petofi's shocked dismay.   I could also see a stalemate happening though.

I would give the edge to Stokes, but it would be one close game, I think.

It wouild be a handy opportunity to show how formidable a villain Petofi is, against the good guys, in a way that would not actually have any real, practical consequences, so I think Petofi would win hands down.     Then, after the game, our heroes would work out a way to defeat him, despite this showing off on his part.

I think Prof. Stokes would win. H'd be able to look at it from all sides.
Where as Petofi would only consider one.
