   I've never seen the '02 adaptation, but I will say I've loved everything Mike Flanagan has been doing in recent years, so I'm definitely looking forward to his take on Carrie.

MB, the '02 adaptation is free on tubi.  Angela Bettis and Patricia Clarkson star as Carrie and Margaret.  It is the closest to the novel.

The article says "this is the first-ever television adaptation." I can't believe how many times sites like that get simple facts wrong.

The only thing by Mike Flanagan that I've seen is The Haunting of Hill House, and I was so appalled by that desecration of Shirley Jackson's work that I have not been able to bring myself to watch anything else he's done.
