UK Dark Shadows Fans
« on: July 26, 2005, 08:14:47 PM »
I apologise if this topic is in the wrong section, but i am a newbie so please bear with me.

Anyway, I am a UK fan of DS and i was wondering if anybody else knows about the show in the UK.
Nobody else i know has ever heard of the show beacause it was rarely shown in the UK.
I read about the show in various books and magazines and became fascinated by it.
When i saw DVD's were available i had to get some to find out what it was like, and i was not disappointed!
I wish i could attend one of the festivals i hear about, but its just not possible :-[
At least i have a book signed by Kathryn leigh Scott that i bought of EBAY, and an original Night of Dark Shadows movie poster.
The show has me hooked, i love the atmosphere of the B&W episodes and i love the music ( I had to buy the soundtracks.), i can't wait to buy more DVD's and see the stories unfold.

Welcome to the forum English Cousin!  Everything that DS has done for you it's done for me also.
Cassandra:  I have a potion.  You know it well.  As soon as she drinks it, within an hour, she will go to sleep and have the dream.
Nicholas:  I am much to talented to spend my time drugging drinks.

Hi there!  It's great to have another "cousin from England" in the world of Dark Shadows.  I do hope that DS is rebroadcast in England, and in exchange I want to see the new Doctor Who here Stateside.  BTW, Jon Pertwee's my favorite Doctor- reminds me a lot of Barnabas with his taste in suits and capes, plus DS was on the air when he became the Doctor in 1970!

You havent seen the new doctor who series yet in the US ?
I have seen it and hope that you guys get to see it as it is fantastic!!!!!
Its the best series since Tom Baker left the show.
The doctor and his assistant (Christopher Eccleseton and Billie Piper) are great together and it's shame The doctor is becoming another actor next series. But the glimpse of the new doctor is promising.
Look out for the daleks, they're back and badder than ever!!!!!!

WELCOME Cousin

One of the best DS sites on the web IMHO is run by a charming Brit, Stuart Manning.
It is Dark Shadows Journal http://www.collinwood.net/ He has the most intrigueing
interviews with the stars and behind the sceens mover and shaker of DS Fandom.
I happened to spy Stuart talking to a Guest at the fest and I am sure that he will have
an interesting interview posted  in the near future.

Never say never about traveling to the fest, I didn't think I would ever get to attend but hear I am
a veteran of 4 fests!
