Cute, yes? 

 They haven't been released yet, but there are pics of them online.  You can also pre-order them from one site, but I'm not sure how reputable that site is.  I'm waiting until either Entertainment Earth or AFX offers them for pre-order.  They're really nice looking.

I think they look cheap, awkward, and ungainly... but then I'm not really into dolls (not *that* kind at any rate.. heh, heh).

Gothick:  LOL! You are naughty!  I personally would have preferred to see figures done by great toy sculptors like the Four Horsemen (www.fourhorsemen.biz) or by McFarlane Toys.  Still, I think these are pretty cool and will probably look better in person.

As someone who collects dolls and figures, I'm happy with them. I was surprised and impressed by the pictures. I'm looking forward to getting them. I just keep hoping they will continue the line and make more characters. I'd love to have a line of 12" DS figures, even though I'll be content with Barnabas and Quentin.

 Yeah, I think they'll be cool.  I also hope they continue the line and make lots of characters such as Angelique, Julia, Willie, Vickie, Mad Jenny, Adam, etc...  I also think it'd be neat if each character came with their corresponding portrait when applicable.     

 Barnabas'Bride, which figures and dolls do you collect?  My husband and I collect figures and toys too.  We have a collectibles "toy room" in our apartment; lots of crazy stuff in there.  We collect Masters of the Universe figures, Strawberry Shortcake dolls (only the 80s ones, although I don't have many because the vintage ones are expensive), Living Dead Dolls, Nightmare Before Christmas items and some classic horror movie toys.

A bit of a variety, but mostly I collect 12". I have several figures from Sideshow - Their X-Files Mulder & Scully, and some of their Buffy figures. I also have a range of Star Wars figures, and comic book movie figures....Phantom of the Opera, Men in Black, Pirates of the Caribbean, Sherlock Holmes, a couple Star Trek and Lord of the Rings, and a small assortment of other things.

I recently downsized my collection quite a bit because it was becoming too overwhelming to keep up with. I've been collecting for about 7 years.

DS is really the only thing that I've ventured outside of figures/dolls for.

Strawberry Shortcake has really made a comeback.

    Wow! Sounds like a great collection Barnabas'Bride!  I know what you mean about downsizing the collectibles.  They can take up a lot of room, and get to be a pain to dust sometimes.  We have a nice clear wall-display case with Batman animated series figures inside.  I like display cases because they keep stuff dust-free, and look nice too. But we can't afford to buy cases for everything, so we have a lot on shelves (and some stuff in storage too). 

     It's the same for me with the DS stuff.  I collect mainly figures/dolls, but since there isn't much
figure/doll-based DS stuff I go for what I can get or afford.

PennyDreadful - Thanks. Dust is the worst, and it's an extra pain when it comes to a bunch of figures and dolls. I'd like to have cases for everything too, but the cost combined with the lack of space makes it too hard. For awhile, I got into collecting other various types of collectibles, but I kicked that habit and made DS my only exception. I couldn't resist collecting DS stuff.

OMG! I want the Doctor Phibes one! 

I think they look pretty good, despite the fact that Quentin's suit looks WAY too big for him. I think out of the lot Barnabas circa 1967 looks the best, 1795 Barnabas looks a little old for some reason. I will buy them all though. Who can resist? (I want more! Especially Angelique!)

Ahhh! Dr. Phibes!! (Sorry, that is just too damn cool!)

     I didn't realize how detailed the faces were.  The Dr. Phibes looks just like Vincent Price.  I was not impressed with the Quentin doll.  He looked more like a cross between Anthony George and Quentin.  The clothes on the DS figures, especially Barnabas' vest, looked odd.
