Where's little David?
« on: March 27, 2002, 06:45:51 PM »
I was just thinking while watching yesterday's episode.....there's Sarah, in the graveyard, looking for Barnabas.

Supposedly, Millicent brought her little brother (David, or was it Daniel?...please someone refresh my mind!) with her down from NY. Yet, we haven't seen nor heard from him ?!?

Then again, kids back then were meant to be seen, not heard  :-X

As a story idea, I thought it would've been kind of interesting to see these mischievous two be in the background, for instance, whilst Angelique was performing all of her spells. Perhaps suspecting her all along. Or David (Daniel?) come looking for the missing Sarah in the graveyard (now there's a switch).

Not that they would be key, pivotal players in the grand scheme of things, but somehow have them tied in.

Any thoughts on this?

It's Daniel and he presumably is a studious lad spending most of his time in the school room.

Daniel is rather different than David.  Resourceful, bright, but not particularly mischievous.  You'll see him soon enough  8)

You can just refer to him as TLM [the little monster]

but thats a good idea about them 'in the background' and being hip to the situation! - and it was was very sad today, Barn holding Sarah at the end.  I have a 'little sister' [40something now] and that would be horrible - that scene has never effected me as much as today!  these are some great eps.

but.....

The 1897  stoyline seems to devote more energy to the children of the Series.

Spoiler........

Laura Collins returning for her children and the possession of Jamison Collins by Petofi.

:) Hi Karen_#2, Sounds like a good idea! I always said that if little David (or Daniel) was more involved in the 1795 storyline, he would have for sure found out who the "real witch" was, especially with the snooping around he does, lol!!  ;)

Daniel as an adult in 1840 has a very good recollection of the witch as you will see...

I'm assuming that David Henesy was given some time off because we never see him in 1795 as "Daniel" until after Sarah dies. That seems rather odd considering that he was supposed to have arrived with Millicent. Joshua even told Victoria her duties would now include the tutoring of Daniel. Yet after the family moves into the new house Sarah complains she has no one to play with - where is Daniel? Perhaps they didn't care for one another very much.

I notice that each time travel story (1795, 1897, 1840) begins with a lot of attention on the children - but then once we travel back in time we see very little of the children. Seen but not heard - you got that right!
