When Did Lara Really Leave?
« on: March 23, 2002, 05:27:11 AM »
Lara Parker said in an interview that she got an apartment and a charge account at Saks and then Dan Curtis called her to tell her that Angelique's character was being killed off.  She said fortunately her character proved to be popular and Dan brought her back. Looking at the recent death scene where Barnabas shoots Angelique, it looks like the writers decided overnight not to kill off her character.  No real explanation in the next episode, just that she tells Ben she thought she was going to die and didn't.  So when did this supposed end to her character happen? Sure her character was taken off and on throughout the series but never for very long.

Curtis killed off characters and sometimes just as fast he brought them back.

Spoiler....

Maybe when Nicholas Blair removes her powers and she dies so we think...only to return as a Vampire. Or in the 1840 storyline closer to the end of the show Angelique does die. However in 1840PT(last storyline of the Series), Lara Parker portrays Catherine Harridge, who is a heroine and not a villain.

Ms. Parker was one of the actresses, who stayed with the show until the last episode.I hope I answered the question.

I got the impression that she really didn't "die" until 1840. Throughout the series, she seemed to be an immortal, so no matter what happened, she would always me around in some form or another, always ready to antagonize Barnabas.

....she was shot this time in the shoulder, she was able to mend herself eventually after she "came to". She wasn't able to do the same for herself in 1840, when she was shot in the heart by Lamar. She had givnen up her powers for Barnabas by then.....(please refresh my memory if I recall this wrong).

DonB, I don't know if you've seen these episodes before or not, but I think that Ms. Parker was referring to...

Monday's episode where Barnabas rises from the dead and kills Angelique.  She does make a cameo appearance or two for the remainder of 1795, and then comes on full time after Vicki returns to the present.

In regards to Angelique's two pistol wounds, it proves one thing:

Lamar Trask is a far better shot than Barnabas, but Barnabas is a far better lover than the love-starved Lamar Trask!

You are right on, ProfStokes. Barnabas strangles Angelique and we do not see her that much for the rest of 1795. However, she does appear a few times (which is misleading to the question-not that this is an excuse for not answering the question correctly ::)). Popularity brought her back in the guise of Cassandra Collins!
