I believe he had a long-standing problem with his kidneys.

Oh, Barry White and his baritone voice! I can't think of anyone who could fan the flames of romance with his songs like Barry White could. I am sorry to hear that he's passed. I read that he was in great discomfort and now he is not in pain anymore. His music will go on and I will listen to some of my favorite Barry White songs in his honor.

so true  he was great! he had a major stroke last sept and never recovered. hope he is up with all the greats in Rock and Roll Heaven
which is the heaven i've requested to go!
