OT:  For Ringo and the concert...
« on: March 11, 2002, 05:25:13 AM »
First I wanted to thank you for posting the dates of the Paul McCartney concert.  Sadly we tried despertly to get tickets for the April 19th show in Boston. Sob.Sob. no luck.  We had the whole evening planed.  Dinner in the North End at Sabatino's, a wonderful Italian restaurant ion Washinton St.  Than the concert. I am still in depression over it.

Birdie--who is very sad this weekend.  The tickets went on sale at 10.  and my husband could not get throuogh on the phone or net.  It was sold out by 11.
Birdie--

Dear Birdie,

When my brother was a student at Boston college, I used to go with him to some of the restaurants in the North End of Boston.  Excellent food, and not as "touristy" as some of the restaurants on Mulberry Street.  Is Anthony's Restaurant still there on the waterfront?

Sorry to hear about your bad luck concerning tickets to see Sir Paul.  I'm waiting to hear about the availability of tickets for the rumored, and much anticipated, reunion tour of a great Boston group, "NKOB," better known as New Kids On The Block.

Sincerely,

Bob the Bartender, who's appalled that CSN&Y charged over two hundred bucks for choice seats at their MSG concert in New York.

Bob,
Anthony's is still there.  I have never sad to say had the opportunity to eat there.  It is very pricey.  They have a sister place at the Cape.  We attended a wedding there a few summers ago.  The food was very good and we had a blast.    The place I mentioned, my brother in law found and is excellent and reasonable.  Very small, family like.
I guess the CSN&Y concert in Boston was not sold out.  My nephew was at the house and his friend called from the concert so we could enjoy some of the fun.  Not sure what the cost was.

Hey Birdie, keep trying - check with the Ticketmonster several times a day, as many credit cards are bombing out, and they make those tickets available when they get a bounce on the card.  go to the T/M website, put that page in yer favorites, and refresh, refresh, refresh!  But Boston is one of the quickest selling cities.

I said and heard some things about Paul and those ticket prices this weekend I thought I would never say.  I am disappointed - shocked - hurt - downright mad  - that he would do that to the fans!  And with an unproven band, as well.  Those of us who did multiple shows during the '89 -'93 tour period [53 shows for me!] are changing our banner from 'Fans on the Run' to 'Driving U$ to the Poor House' [the actual theme for the tour is 'Driving USA']

Stay on top of TM, and I hope to see ya in Boston!

Birdie,
Ironically there is a resturant called Sabatino's in Baltimore, (Little Italy). I wonder if the two are owned by the same people. They have a, "Bookmakers Salad" which is out of this world, served with thier house dressing.

Comments anyone???

My daughter is going to try the Radio stations.  Being 13 she has a lot more time than me.  She thinks it would be an awesome thing to do for her mom seeing it is very close to my birthday.  Keep your fiingers crossed.
