What kills me is that bit where Judith realizes that he's brought someone home with him again and makes that tantalizing mention of "that awful poet" so this is like a regular thing apparently.
Well, given what we've seen of Carl and his relationship to every single member of that wretched household, is it any wonder? Do you imagine he's ever for one instant felt "loved" by any member of his own family?
What happens to unloved children? They either become incapable of loving anyone else, or they seek it out any and everywhere they can. And who would recognize Carl's pathetic, desperate need to be loved fastest? A con artist.
I must not have been listening too carefully....I don't remember Judith referring to an "awful poet". But it would reinforce the image of Carl as a child who loves to be "entertained" by "artistic" women.
Yep, in the very end. Too bad it was in during the generall sucky (strictly IMHO, there are lots who love 1841PT) period.
Well, I tend to agree with YOUR take on things DS (except Beth....you have some sympathy for her....I'd cheerfully kick her keister right off a cliff!) so I guess I'll be gritting my teeth through another story line just to watch JK perform!
