Login Question

Hello...having problems...have to log in via the little 'pic' of person with word login (compared w/regular front page).
My computer is tired; got a new one
(go ahead, laugh[roll3] I got a Dell )

Plus, I got the Verizon DSL, but this wait, Christmas present for my husband.

(who knows how long it'll take to be up & running...when I called Dell this a.m....uh, like...uh.. the rep wasn't sure if I'm loaded with Solitaire & she said even though I purchased Home Office, it's not actually Word nor Excel??)

Hereeeee's my question...is logging in per e-mail?
Ex., when I log in, it says:

Name: Patti
Password: cat     (not really)

So, when I'm not on crappy old Superlink in another month, will this board recognize Patti, or will it only want Patti from Superlink.net?

When you change your e-mail address from Superlink to Earthlink in your profile, the forum will send you a new password to your Earthlink address. So when you want to log in afterward, you'll enter:

Username: Patti
Password: (the new password that was sent to you)

MB...wouldn't I need to be recognized first to get in to change my password?

Patti, all you have to do when you want to visit the forum with your new server is type www.dsboards.com into your browser window and when the 1st screen comes up click "Login", then type your usual username and password into the spaces and the next screen will give you access to the forums as well as to your Profile.

Once you save the change to your email address in your Profile (which we highly recommend!), however, you will once again have to use the login screen because changing your email address locks you out until you log in again using the new password that the system will have sent to your new email address.  You may want to finish using the forum on that initial visit with your new server before making changes to your profile cuz there's no way to predict how many minutes it'll take the system to send out the new p/w.

But if you ever find yourself unable to log onto the forum, such as not receiving a new p/w after a reasonable amount of time, you can always email me at <Midnite@dsboards.com> but do please include all info about what came before so that I can better help you out.

<MysteriousB@dsboards.com> has been out of commission and I don't know how long it'll be before MB will again receive the emails sent to that address.  So if anyone hasn't received a reply after emailing MB, that's the reason, but sending an IM to MysteriousB continues to work fine.

Something jammed or overloaded my mailbox (I'm not sure which) and I was unable to download e-mail. But I finally got around to fixing the problem, so MysteriousB@dsboards.com is up and running again.
