To be fair, there isn't a Collinsport in Maine either.   TV shows do make up place names.  And I say that despite my being geographically-obsessed.   However, it took a long time to get anyplace back then.

It's described as being a port town and having ocean cliffs, so it can't be the one in Massachusetts.

I read a fairly new horror novel set in Bedford, Maine whose name escapes me at the moment.  There's also a popular young-adult supernatural fiction series (Need) that's set there.
