Gosh, it was interesting to watch Julia today.  Her allegiance has changed, as it changed when she was victimized by a vampire, but the change is not so glaringly obvious now, and Julia is more aware of it, it seems.

So Stokes held an unsuccessful exorcism.  What happened to him?  When he was fighting the dream curse, he had power, but ever since then it seems to me he has been a source of knowledge but not power.

I always like the business about the flaw in the foundation of the Old House.  I guess it makes 1995 start to feel like a place where Barnabas and Julia are starting to feel at home, even though the flaw in question was probably imaginary.  Barnabas is talking about exorcising the evil spirit, rather than going back to 1970 and fixing things.

Barnabas was moving as he talked about how he was cruel to his cousins but now he loves them.  It was a rare reference to the early days.

Even under a ghost's power, Julia questions her controller like an interrogator!   Gerard don't like it!

The voiceover mentions that the ghosts of David and Carrie have been seen, and now I'm really confused because I thought it was Tad's spirit.  And it's bad, bad continuity that Professor Stokes doesn't remember [spoiler]Hallie[/spoiler] when questioned about children at Collinwood in 1970.

In the previous ep, Quentin told Julia, "I never mean to hurt people intentionally," yet here he wants to murder Stokes. I know I shouldn't try to make sense out of the actions of a DS character who is mad, but it seems he has wanted to kill Stokes for a long time.

Since the exorcism resulted in his almost being smothered to death by an "overwhelming sense of evil" (from #1065) that caused him to turn and run for his life, it seems this ghost is just too powerful for any human to face.

That may be.  But  what I mean is that in episode 508 Stokes had considerable (though not complete) success with the dream curse, and boasted about his power, but in episode 693 he conducted an exorcism that failed, and now we hear that he failed with another exorcism in 1970.  I suppose it's the usual story with Dark Shadows characters: they keep getting whittled down.

Very famous scene from the DS compilation The Best of DS!  I was so happy as a teen to get those compilations because I couldn't afford all of the DS VHS tapes back in those days. 
Again I have to wonder where Julia is getting her sedative! 

“EVEN MY TEETH HURT!” ROFLMAO That is perhaps one of the funniest lines on DS and David Selby's deliver is great.  It's true though. I have been so sick before my teeth have hurt.

“I’ve not always been kind to my cousins.  There was a time when I was even cruel.  To see what happened a Collinwood, what the family's been brought to.  Some moments it almost seems more than I can bear!”

  I feel very sad for Barnabas regardless of what an ass he has been through the years I felt as if he really meant that!
Did I mention Julia is scaring me?
