I don't think Liz would fare to well with that one. Then she'd be going around telling everyone that her family is trying to drain the blood from right under her. :-)

This is certainly a cheerful topic.  It seems the fear of being buried alive is an age-old problem.  I read in one of Chopin's biographies that he requested his heart be removed before he was buried so as to make certain he would not be buried alive.
And get this....when my sister-in-law died suddenly two months ago, my brother told me she had always been very specific regarding her remains.  She did not want to be buried in the ground.  She wanted to be entombed, with the door left slightly open.  
I assume the fear of being buried alive plays a part in this??

LOL. My husband told me the same thing when I questioned about the fear of waking up entombed. Once you're embalmed, you're not going nowhere he said.

That's right, so why worry about it? I guess in Liz's case she had a valid reason since she had a curse put on her by a witch. I think that's the second cruelest thing Angelique did, in comparison to the curse she put on Barnabas.

My thoughts exactly! Why must we endure this tiresome backburner storyline? Surely Joan Bennett was used to having a teeny-tiny part in the show by this time!

This subplot of Liz fearing being buried alive is a long one...it lasts for 100 episodes!!

Oh well.  I guess embalming wasn't a common practice in Collonsport.  Perhaps since they didn't make any money that way,  the funeral home people could have had a side business re upholstering caskets.  "Would that be the velvet Mr Collins?  Or did you decide on the Flexsteel?"

It would be very inconsiderate for Collinsport's dearly departed populace to be embalmed. After all, you never know when you'll have the need for a man-made man or be forced to create for him a mate.

In some towns, people take up jogging or the like to stay physically fit; in Collinsport, however, it seems grave robbing is the way to stay in shape!
