"The Great Gatsby", 1974, with The Lovely and Talented Kathryn Leigh Scott (and a buncha other nobodies like Robert Redsomething and Mia Farrother) will air on AMC Sunday evening, 8:00 p.m. east, 7:00 p.m. central. Of course, that'll be opposite the Stupor Bowl, but who watches that?

Gerard,

Gatsby's mansion sort of reminds be of Lyndhurst, the stately home used for Collinwood in the Dark Shadows movies. Incidentally, there's an amusing scene in "Night of Dark Shadows," when David Selby enters the artist's work room at the top of "Collinwood." Of course, all we're supposed to see through the windows is the wide expanse of the Atlantic Ocean along the rocky coast of Maine, Unfortunately, as David peers out of the window, we are treated to a wonderful view of the Tappan Zee Bridge which spans the Hudson River from Nyack to Tarrytown, NY!!! Another great DS blooper!

Wow, Bob, how many times I've seen that movie (once when it first came out in the theaters back in '71, and then several times on video) and I never, ever took notice of that! And how many times have I crossed that bridge whilst on holiday there. I just put it on and fast-forwarded to it and - sure 'nuff - there it is! But then, in the '90 prime-time remake, we had to endure palm trees in Collinsport, Maine.

I went to nursing school in Valhalla,NY and crossed over the Tappan Zee Bridge all time unless I came down Route 9N and thru Tarrytown. Never noticed that scene in the movie or the fact that Lyndhurst was nearby. Palm trees in Collinsport? Must've been the warm weather one year.

Palm trees are one thing; they were definitely out of place. But a bridge in and of itself isn't really a blooper. Who's to say that the Tappan Zee Bridge wasn't playing the part of a bridge that could actually exist in a town like Collinsport, ME? ;)
