what happens to Barnabas at the end of the series?

Barn becomes a game-show host, he has a one-handed bandleader called Count Petofi, Julia shaves her head and becomes the show's announcer, constantly 'needles' the host about his obvious, and well-merited affection for a beautiful regular guest named Kitty, and Adam, a stand-up comedian, gets boo'ed off the stage about once a month. The house band knows only one song, but has a crafty looking trombone player named Nick, with hairstylings by Mr. Clark. Through 'Man on the street' interviews by reporter 'Sky' [if that is his real name] we meet a couple of real weirdo's, Bruno and Quenton, who are apparently fashion designers. And Abe Vigoda is always plugging his new book, Kiss and Makeup.

You're gonna love it. Stay tuned.

If you really want to know what happened to Barnabas at the end of the series:

[spoiler]Barnabas returns from 1840 to 1971, along with Julia and Prof. Stokes, to find that they successfully changed history and prevented the destruction of Collinwood Barnabas and Julia had seen in 1995.

Whether Barnabas is a vampire or not at the end has always been argued amongst fans. Angelique cured him in 1840, but his curse in 1970 was caused by Jeb Hawkes, the Leviathan leader, and no one is sure if THAT vampire curse is gone or not. Believe me, it's been rich fodder for speculative fan fiction.[/spoiler]
