He doesn't mention DS, but he does talk about Vampires and that is close enough

Thanks LdyAnne, that was a great read.  Del Toro was actually my choice to direct DS; I didn't know that he was already involved with this other trilogy (I did know about The Hobbit, but still hoped he might have time for DS in between).  I do like that Del Toro is attracted to the vicious aspect of the vampire, but maybe he's a little *too* far in that direction.  I don't want Johnny to play Barnabas as merely a lovelorn hunk, and vicious would be great with me but I DO want him to be seductive, too.

It'll be interesting to see Del Toro's take on vampires.

Del Toro was also my first choice for a DS film director.  I suspect he's one of the few who'd really "get it."  Burton was my second choice.  Like Del Toro, Burton is capable of creating a dark fairy tale world.  However, Burton often works that quirky Charles Addams-esque humor into a lot of his films.  Normally that's just fine, but it's something that I really hope he doesn't do with Dark Shadows.  Since Burton and Depp are both fans, I have hopes that they won't go for the tongue-in-cheek gallows humor.
