[It's up to the first poster to come up with a set up, and then each following post will either complete it or fill in the blank(s). And, as always, whoever posts the set up is certainly allowed to post their own completion/fill in as a follow up.]

Setup:

Barnabas: I wonder, Cousin Quentin, if the American branch of the family passed down the same story about Isaac Collins that the English branch did: that he never learned to...

(Um - you do realize that's Jeremiah's portrait in the capture, right? Isaac's portrait is the one of the guy with the beard that normally hangs over the piano in the present time.  )

Well, no, I got them mixed up.  But never mind, I'm quite sure that Barnabas was looking at Isaac's portrait earlier, and so he was still thinking about Isaac.
