Kate Jackson ever at DS Conventions?

I understand why David Henesy & Alexandra Moltke haven't ever been at any convention, but has Kate Jackson ever been to one?   I don't seem to remember any mention of her in any past festival.

If she hasn't, does anyone know why?

Her Apperince fee may be alot of money more then fits into the budget.

Although Jackson has not been to a DS Festival per se, she did attend the William F. Paley Festival tribute to DS in 2001 (Moltke was there too).  This event is sponsored by the Museum of Television and Radio; I don't know if or how celebrities are compensated for their appearances.

I guess I can appreciate that as the most commerically successful post-shadows actor on the soap, her interest may not be there.  Perhaps if the Depp movie comes to pass - and I still doubt it will - she will be interested in maybe attending one fest just to see what its all about.

I honestly don't think it has anything to do with her commercial success.  She hasn't been in any big commercial venture for awhile that I know of and the conventions have been going on still without her.  There are actors who don't have any interest in attending conventions for a variety of reasons.  Humbert Allen Astredo attended one and swore never again to attend.  Nancy Barrett didn't attend for many years because the idea of such large crowds was not something she was comfortable with, no matter how adoring they are.  Alexandra Moltke doesn't come for that reason.  It doesn't mean the actors who don't come do not respect the fans; it's just not a venue they are comfortable being a part of for whatever reason.

That's hilarious!  I'm guessing that he didn't enjoy the experience... [hall2_wink]

On a related note, I do wish that he had participated in MPI's Dark Shadows Behind the Scenes, as I would love to hear him reminisce about his years on the show.  Are there any interviews with him in which he discusses DS?

While I respect the DS actors and actress that did not or will not attend the festival,  it still makes one a little sad. :(  I think David Henesey particularly would have FABULOUS stories as probably Kate would too.  It would be so neat to see her and David Selby do a panel, no?

Humbert Allen Astredo was inerviewed Craig Hamrick a few mounths before Criaig's death.  IM not sure if Craig ever got the chace to add meterial from the interview to his web site before he died.

www.darkshadowsonline.com  seems to be gone. I guess Carig's partner Joe could not aford to keep it running. Too bad Craig had a great site.

And once again I feel sad.  I wish the site could have been ran by someone who knew Craig and loved DS.  However, I can understand his partner not being able to continue paying for the site or for whatever his reasons were for closing down. :( [8_1_1]

Dear DLA, many thanks for pointing us to Craig's note about talking to Humbert in '06.  I wonder whether Craig ever had the chance to finish writing up the interview.    Writing about this is making me miss Craig all over again.  What a sweetheart he was. 

There's an update on Humbert's page on IMDB indicating that he lost his daughter Jenny in June of this year.  There is a note from a friend of the family's who attended her memorial service in Studio City, Cali.  It is said there that Humbert at the time was too ill to travel and was unable to attend--heartbreaking.

Craig expresses surprise that Humbert did stand-up comedy as an armed forces entertainer early in life, but I am not surprised at all. There was always such delicious wit lurking under the surface in his portrayals, particularly 1968 Nicholas which is my favorite role of his.
