Sam Evans, The King of Cool

Sam is so cool that he even wears his shades when he's in a coma.  Then again, he had just returned from the Blue Whale so it could have just been a drunken stupor.

If you think that's a hoot, just wait until the scene in which he's wearing them as a GHOST. :-)

Oh ya, that got me too.  I always wear shades while in a coma or asleep.  I bet they bury him in them too.

LOL!  When I saw that, the first thing that I wondered was, why didn't the hospital staff remove those glasses when he was brought in?  Didn't they confiscate Liz's possessions (including the key to the basement) when she came for her stay?

Now, regarding Sam's dream: one of the things that struck me at first was how he reacted as if he were still awake and Vicki's visit was natural.  (His protests that he was ill and shouldn't get out of bed when she beckoned to him.)  However, if he didn't realize at first that he was dreaming, then how did he rationalize the fact that he was suddenly able to see Vicki?

I was wondering that too. Maybe he thought his sight had returned to him since he's just woken up from the coma?  ?!? beyond me!

Those sunglasses scare me. Didn't they have better styles back then? I don't remember.  ::)

Notice how fast Sam adjusted to his latest curse...one day he's struck blind and the next day he's decked out with all new stuff from the Collinsport medical supply store - dark glasses, cane.  Seemed pretty calm about recruiting someone (anyone!) to help him paint too.

What really scares me is I think I actually had a pair of sunglasses that looked like those when I was in 7th grade. [smokn] [pimp] [sun]  8)

That explanation works for me, Daphne.

He's just got an extra fussy nurse . .did Julia's Nurse Jackson join Collinwood Memorial H?

Dear Blue Whale Barfly,

If lifetime fans of the Green Bay Packers can be buried in a customized "Green Bay Packer coffin," with the official team colors, and Bela Lugosi can be buried in his Dracula cape, then Collinsport's most prolific artist can be buried with his shades still on.

Bob the Bartender, who wonders if Sam's good buddy, Bob Rooney, slipped a fifth of Johnnie Walker Black into Sam's coffin before they closed it shut.

Hey Bob,

Considering Sam's stature in Collinsport I hope it was a bottle of Single Malt!

I agree, those glasses are...eww. I bet the person who sold them to him sold it to him 'cheap' and didn't let Joe or Maggie see it before he purchased it..taking advantage of his blindness. I'd hope Maggie or Joe would have better taste in sunglasses..
