ShadowGram (SG), The Official Newsletter & News Source for Dark Shadows (DS), announces the following breaking news.


*** DARK SHADOWS RESURRECTED CONVENTION UPDATE

The DARK SHADOWS RESURRECTED event is July 18-20 at the Burbank Airport Marriott Hotel & Convention Center in Burbank (Los Angeles), CA.

SG here announces 2 new guests: DAVID SELBY (Quentin) and ROGER DAVIS (Peter, Jeff).

They will be joining previously-announced guests JONATHAN FRID, JOHN KARLEN, LARA PARKER, KATHRYN LEIGH SCOTT, JERRY LACY, MARIE WALLACE, CHRISTOPHER PENNOCK, ROBERT RODAN, BOB COBERT and SY TOMASHOFF.

At-the-door admission rates:
$30.00 for all 3 days or $15.00 for 1 day.
Children 6-12: Half-price

Here is some additional news regarding the upcoming event, including a newly-updated planned schedule of activities and more information about the Fest itself. .

BURBANK AIRPORT MARRIOTT HOTEL & CONVENTION CENTER

The hotel has been undergoing a $25-million renovation and all sleeping rooms and meeting rooms are finished. However, the hotel's side entrance on Hollywood Way is closed for construction so that all access to the hotel and adjoining convention center (where the DS Resurrected events will take place) must be made from Thornton Ave, on the north side of the hotel grounds. Thornton Ave. runs into the entrance to Burbank Airport just west of this actual hotel entrance.

SUNDAY NIGHT BANQUET & JONATHAN FRID AUTOGRAPHED PHOTO

The 7-20 DS Banquet at the hotel still has a few openings available. If you have reservations, you will need to present your original receipt at the Fest registration desk at any time in order to collect your banquet ticket and your personalized photograph. Please try to do so when the Fest registration desk is not busy. Please keep your ticket safe as it will be collected at the table before you are served at the banquet.

Please remember that your personalized autographed photo from Jonathan Frid will be given to you when you pick up your membership badge. You get the badge when you first come to the Fest registration desk. The badge enables you to enter the convention function rooms to enjoy the scheduled activities, so please clearly wear it whenever you are in the Fest area. Please note that Jonathan will not be autographing any other items.

DARK SHADOWS COSTUME GALA

Fans may wish to dress in costume as a DS character or in general period attire from one of the time periods depicted on the show (1790s, 1840s, 1890s, 1960s-70s). They are welcome to join our traditional Costume/Presentation Gala on Sat., 7-19. This is not a contest or competition - it is just for fun. It's an opportunity for fans to share their DS creativity with a well-turned outfit, brief recitation or performance that they plan and prepare. All Fest attendees are welcome to be in the audience and support the onstage entrants. Please remember that we have a family audience.

Entry forms will be available at the volunteer/information desk near registration and should be returned there no later than Sat. at 6pm. Gala MC / SG editor Marcy Robin will be coordinating the Gala with a brief run-through with all participants at 7pm in a designated rehearsal room, prior to the 7:30pm start of the Gala. DARK SHADOWS MEMORABILIA MARKETPLACE - HOURS OF OPERATION
Friday, July 18: 6-9pm; Saturday, July 19:11am-7pm; Sunday, July 20: 11am-6pm

The sales area will feature an extensive array of items - photos, books, posters, dvds, cds, magnets, key chains, jewelry, collectibles, and more. Prices range from $1 or less into the $100s, depending on the vendor and item. During the weekend, a number of our guests offer pictures and their own books for purchase and autographs as well.

Autograph lines can be quite long, so everyone is encouraged to be patient, accomodating, and mindful of others in line in front of and behind you. Also, please be considerate of our guests and the people around you when taking pictures. Please do not audio/video/online record any performance events.

The Fest is a casual occasion, encouraging fans of all ages to enjoy DS together. People usually wear comfortable clothing for the general activities. The dinner has no strict dress code but attendees often come in suits (with or without a tie), cocktail or "fancy" dresses, business/office attire, nice pants suit, sports jacket, etc. If you wish, you can dress more casually.

Everybody is there to share DS for the fun of it and a great weekend is anticipated!


*** SG #113 PRINT ISSUE TO BE READY FOR MAILING VERY SOON

The above information and all the latest confirmed DS news will be expanded in the new SG #113 published newsletter, which will be sent by postal-mail to all paid subscribers within the coming days.

This print issue includes an exclusive candid photo of Alexandra Moltke taken on location during DS, and a dramatic never-seen-before picture of a menacing Barnabas (Jonathan Frid) with a smiling Julia (Grayson Hall) behind him. The issue also has SG Premiere Announcements and shows some of the new merchandise debuting at next week's Fest, such as Jonathan Frid's new performance DVD "Frid-Evil" and the cover for one of the new audiodramas. There is information and media coverage of a number of DS-related projects and references as well
