I remember watching this episode a few years back.  It was the first time in quite a while that I had watched 1795, and while I remembered the general outline, I didn't remember the details.  As Joshua watched Barnabas's hand - unmistakably Barnabas's, with the ring - coming out of the coffin, I suddenly realized that I was saying out loud, "Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God."  I think that moment was the most powerful in the whole series.

So many times when I'm watching Dark Shadows, I think to myself: "I love watching this, but if I were an actor, I'm not sure I'd want to be doing it."  (More evidence that I have zero comprehension of what it is that impels an actor to act.)  But I sure don't get that feeling with this scene.

Collinwood is a fully equipped, isn't it?  Liquor and firearms in every room!

What an excellent performance by Louis Edmonds!

I can only imagine what is going through Joshua's mind at this crucial moment upon discovering Barnabas. talk about an adrenaline rush!  [santa_shocked]

Indeed, Louis Edmonds did a fabulous job in this episode! [clap2] That scene at the end, with Barnabas opening the coffin, was one of the best! [santa_thumb] Wow! Joshua sure did have an eye-opener today! That would be incredible to hear that your son was seen, apparently alive, when you know that he is dead! [santa_shocked] Nathan sure had a fantastic way to get Joshua to agree to Nathan and Millicent's marriage - and to let Joshua know that Barnabas was alive! [santa_azn] It's a wonder Joshua didn't have a heart attack when he saw Barnabas' hand! [santa_wink]

One quick question:  Why is it that people in vampire stories always seem to arrive at the coffin just as dusk is falling?
