While watching DS (either the first or 50th time) did you ever feel that there was a snap in your suspension of disbelief? What episode, character, etc. brought this about for you?

SPOILER. . .

When Angelique, in the Leviathan storyline, comes to Collinwood after learning her husband, Sky, is in league with the Leviathans, she decides that Barnabas is her One True Love after all.  Realizing that Barnabas is sweet on Maggie (he's even given her a ring that Josette's ghost returned to him, a ring we never, ever saw), she immediately pulls the old Jeremiah-Josette ploy and makes Maggie and Quentin get the hots for each other, complete with pitchforks.  Since I thought Angelique had finally done some maturing, I felt this a huge, disappointing step backwards in her character.

I don't know if I it messed with my belief system, per se, but it sure pissed me off!

Little things like Lang not turning on the tape recorder when he was supposed to be recording an all-important message, which we will shortly see, did that to me, too.

Love, Robin

At the end of the 1840 storyline, when Barnabas decides he's in love with Angelique.  After all the suffering she put him and his family through, there is just no way I can see him ever coming to love her, even after her unselfish actions at the end of this storyline.  To me, this is one of the most implausible events in the history of the show.

Well, quite honestly, I don't think Vicky could have been THAT stupid and yet remember to eat and not walk in front of moving vehicles. The perpetual deterioration of her character gets painful to watch, and I quite sympathize with A. Moltke, it had to be excruciating to play that role as written.

That whole Vicky & Peter Bradford/Jeff Clark saga really began to get to me after awhile, so much so, that it got to the point of really being unbelievable! First, she goes off with him to the past. Meanwhile, we are thinking that they are living happily ever after and that's going to be the last of it!  Next thing you know, Barnabas & Julia spot Vicky's headstone that implies that she was hanged as a witch. So naturally, Barnabas has to travel back to 1795 to save her. Okay, now that's done and we think all is well with these two, and once again, we're thinking they're living happily ever after, thanks to Barnabas.  WELL! Wrong again![pissd] Here we go at it for a third time around. This time, during the Levithan storyline we see the ghost of Peter Bradford appearing to Jeb Hawks, accusing him of being responsible for Vicky's death! How & why they managed to fit that bit into the Levithan scene, God only knows. What I do know is that I had just about had it by then! [puke]
