Great episode.
Jason runs out like the coward he is and hunted like the crook he is....but not before he drops the biggest bombshell of all.
Poor Carolyn.....I know it was a shock for her to hear that her mother killed her father, she knew Jason had some hold on her mother but she never could have dreamed in a million years it being Mother unintentionally responsible for the demise of Father.
But Elizabeth I really feel for most of all....her biggest fear seems to have come true. After hearing the truth, Carolyn runs away from her and now Elizabeth has to deal with the fact that her daughter may hate her forever now.
Elizabeth is way too hard on herself....Sheriff Patterson is right, Jason is the real criminal here...in fact the ONLY criminal as we will soon learn.
The new Burke (Anthony George) makes his one and only comment about his imprisonment that had so embittered Mitch Ryan's Burke. He tells Roger he remembers how "well" the Collinses handle things by allowing another man to go to prison for a certain Collins member's crime. After this we never hear him being brought up again.
Again, gotta give this episode two thumbs up.

When Roger was trying to stop Elizabeth from calling the sheriff, I had a strong feeling that his next words were going to be: "We can't have the police digging down there! I've got another body buried in the next room!"
How big are the woods of Collinwood? I always imagine them to be pretty extensive, enough so that effectively searching the woods is just not possible. Anything less would make Collinwood just a house with a few trees. But time and time again, people claim to have searched the woods. Meanwhile, I've got to wonder: why didn't Jason end up at Widows Hill? Everybody else does who runs off into the woods.
Nice job by Nancy Barrett on her big scene. I know what I know, and therefore I know that Carolyn doesn't know what she thinks she knows - but she had me thinking about the whole business from her point of view. After all, she has heard only her mother's version of the story, not her father's.
And why couldn't Sheriff Davenport wait for a few policemen to help him dig up Paul Stoddard? The body's been there for 20 years. It can wait a few hours more. I don't think the authorities were ever told that Burke Devlin was innocent, and even if they were, I myself would feel a bit nervous about being aided in a disinterment in a spooky basement by a guy who spent five years consorting closely with murderers and other criminals. But I guess I'm just a girlie girl.

I realized that they dresses looked like large Babby Doll Pajamas. mainly Joans dress. Didn't they really like they had short legs.
The woods was in one small space and they really had to be carefull not to bump into each other. I laughed out loud about the don'e shoot me. After climbing through the woods they still look good.
Did Burke want to do this to make Vickie think good of him. Roger wouldn't stoop the dig up a grave, he would hire someone.

It was
great
when Jason showed his true colors!
He was a coward who was trying to weasel out of it. That look on his face when he was running away was priceless!
They always do this in soap operas, but I
still
found myself wanting to know what was in the trunk at the end of the show! Drat! Have to wait until tomorrow!
Yeah, that scene when Roger told Burke to be careful and not shoot
him
was really funny!
