General Fest Questions

Actually, I thought the final one was in 03 in Brooklyn and 04 was in Tarrytown.  What I really think they meant was the final regular fest and then they called them a week-end.  We still all call it a Fest so there.

Not to be nit picky but, the last DS event I attended was Tarrytown in '04 and I thought that was the first year they referred to it as the Dark Shadows Weekend. Call it a weekend, shindig or a royal pomenade, to me they will always be fests. 

You are both correct, 2003 Brooklyn was the "last Festival", then they took it to Tarrytown in 2004, then Hollywood last year and started calling them Weekends.  They're STILL Festivals no matter what they call them now because the format remains the same.

I truly believe Jim and company wanted to end them in 2003 for whatever reason and the stars, KLS in particular, wanted them to continue, which is why they are still going but under a new name, possibly to save face?

Since we had the final Fest in 2004, next came the Hollywood Weekend 2005 followed by this year's 40th Anniversary Celebration Weekend.

Yes, thank you-- I frogot about the Fest (in Brooklyn) that I didn't attend, lol.  The Final Farewell Festival was in '03, and in '04 was the DS Weekend in Tarrytown.

Well, that's how it appears now, but I don't believe for a second that it's what they originally meant.

Yep.  I keep it on a shelf in this room.  Construction on my house finished a week ago (today's the last inspection, thank the gods) and the Blue Whale sign from that series was given its own special place in one of the new rooms.  Near the wet bar, of course.
