I watched DH and it was a hoot. But in a sort of DS connection, DH did extremely well in the ratings. It "drew close to 21.3 million viewers at 9 p.m. -- making it the most-watched series premiere of the season (topping CBS' 'CSI: NY') and the best opening for an ABC show since 'Spin City' in 1996," and, "equally important for the network, 'Housewives' scored an 8.7 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic, also the best for a series debut this season (beating that of "Joey" on NBC). It also was the night's top show among adults 18-34."
Now, why is all that interesting? Well, DH runs opposite the WB's "Jack and Bobby," which was already attracting lackluster ratings:
... the two shows the WB picked over DS are both struggling in the ratings. ...
and somehow the good showing of DH probably didn't help improve that situation in the slightest.
Let's all join in a collective "Awwwwwwwww."
