Sally's Shadowy Secrets - Episodes 113-117
« on: October 14, 2004, 01:28:32 AM »
Well, here I am again, with another installment. ;) I watched Collector's Series Volume #23, containing these episodes.  Here are my observations and thoughts.

#113 - Mitchell Ryan's drinking problem was really showing itself today.  He obviously wasn't able to remember some of his lines, and Clarice Blackburn said some of the lines that were clearly meant for him to say.  It was amusing to hear Mrs. Johnson saying Burke's lines.  The blank look on Burke's face was priceless!  :-[ ----- David is a smart kid, but not about everything.
It is very dangerous for him to place his trust in Matthew.
#114 - It's too bad that it never came out in the show that Elizabeth is Victoria's mother.
I was SO happy to hear verification of that fact after the show was over, from Alexandra Moltke and Joan Bennett interviews - and especially in "Return to Collinwood".
:D Vicki started showing loyalty to the Collins family during this episode when she
told Burke that she would never see him again.  She knew he was trying to hurt the Collins family, and she would not go along with that.  She obviously had feelings for him when he kissed her, but she still said goodbye to him.
#115 - When David entered the Old House with the bag of groceries, he looked VERY SMALL to me.  The bag looked like it was half his size!  It must have been awkward for him to carry it.  ::)
Matthew really looked tall compared to David!  Gee, it was inevitable that Vicki would do something to create her finding Matthew!  It's too bad Vicki had to drop her wallet on the floor in the Old House.  She never got to spend that lovely weekend in Bangor with Frank.
#116 - There was a horrible loud noise (squeaking and/or squealing?) when Elizabeth and Mrs. Johnson were talking.  :o It was one of the few times that there was a reaction.  Elizabeth paused for a few seconds after hearing the sound. -----  Thayer David was a very good actor.
He was pretty scary with Vicki.  He tricked her into trying to escape - and in true soap opera fashion, he caught her just as she thought it was safe.  He clearly was going insane. Matthew was projecting all of his wrongs onto Vicki - it was HER fault for everything that went wrong!
Matthew reminds me of my father, who was always trying to find someone ELSE to blame all the time when things went wrong.  >:(

#117 - Carolyn is a naive bitch.  She only thinks about herself, and doesn't look at the big picture.  Burke is clearly taking advantage of her, and she just doesn't get it. ???
Another spine-tingling episode - wondering what happened to Vicki.  Elizabeth seemed to have a sixth sense when it came to Vicki - she always knew when she was in danger.  Joe was really being nice, honoring Elizabeth's wishes to check up on Carolyn - even though he really didn't want to.  It was GREAT when Joe punched Burke - too bad Joe didn't win the fight.  Burke obviously cares for Vicki - and ended his date with Carolyn at the first sign that Vicki was in danger.
Vicki sure did have an ugly suitcase.  I wonder if it looked better in color? ???

Well, that's it for now.  I have two more tapes to watch - up to Volume 25.  Today, I will purchase the rest of the video tapes up to the arrival of Barnabas.  Then, I plan to purchase the DVD's, in order, starting from the first one.  I hope I did better with the "spoilers" - Did I do it right this time? ???  Until  next time...
