Donna McKechnie in new book on Broadway
« on: July 11, 2004, 07:57:58 PM »
The following is an excerpt from the new book Making It on Broadway: Actors' Tales of Climbing to the Top by David Wienir and Jodie Langel and is the first quote featured in the review "And the Tony for pluck goes to ..." in today's LA Times Calendar section--

On always starting over:
"Once, I was out of a job and I was really scared because I couldn't pay the rent....I was cleaning the apartment, crying and feeling sorry for myself.... The game show 'Jeopardy!' was on [and] I heard my name. I looked up and I was the answer to a question. It was so ironic."

--DONNA MCKECHNIE

The book can be ordered from Amazon.  Don't forget your favorite DS sites when ordering books; just click on the Amazon banner on their pages before placing your order.

Speaking of Donna McKechnie, she can also be seen in the new documentary film called "Broadway: the Golden Age" a wonderful film filled with interviews with many Broadway greats about their experiences on the Great White Way.

Anyone who loves Broadway should definitely make an effort to see this film!

Thanks for the heads up Betty. I found a website for the documentary.  http://www.broadwaythemovie.com/

There are a couple great trailers there.
