Hi, This is my first post here.

Welcome, Stefan!  It's great that you've jumped right in.  [thumb]

I also feel it's possible that some viewers may have forgotten exactly what Angelique did to Barnabas. She was essentially responsible for the death of his sister, mother, uncle and fiancee who were innocent victims of Angelique's bruised ego. I could never forget it and quite honestly the thought of Barnabas and Angelique is pretty repulsive to me.

I'm a big Angelique fan, but I agree with you that the horrible things she has done are often forgotten by fans that want to romanticize the relationship of B & A, particularly in discussions of her during this storyline.  This is, after all, the Angie we met in 1795 and not yet the one we knew in 1968 and 1897.  While I can't say I find them repulsive as a couple, I think it's their animosity that defines their connection and not sexual chemistry.

Hi IB, thanks for having me here. I really like this board. It's very cool to see so many interesting discussions of dark shadows. It was especially fun to read your archived DS academy awards - LOL.

I wanted to add my two-cents on the Julia/Barnabas relationship. I guess life doesn't always take you where you should be. The Julia/Barnabas thing was such a quirk. I feel that after Barnabas found out time travel was possible (when Vickie came back from 1795) the show should have focused on him desperately trying to get back as I feel Barnabas belonged in this own time. But, as it were...I liked the J/B "friendship" which apparently dominated DS for the rest of its run, but am not as taken by it as I was with the Josette/Angelique/Barnabas triangle.  I feel Julia is somewhat of a drag when she became this love-sick puppy dog enabling Barnabas left and right. I liked Julia in the beginning when she was a tough cookie. Sadly I also feel Barnabas became less fascinating as a character after the Julia/Barnabas friendship began to heat up. Nothing against Grayson H because she was wonderful as the Countess Duprey.

I never thought of it before, but with you saying this, the logical thing to have happened would have been for Barnabas to have tried desperately to get back to BEFORE Martinique and to make sure he didn't have an affair with Angelique in the first place!!!

I'm not sure if I'm doing this "answering quote from different person" thing right...but yes, that's the route I would have gone. I didn't watch much after the Adam story but I hear Barnabas went back in time to rescue Vickie from being hanged but I don't understand why he didn't go back even further to escape the whole curse thing altogether. Doesn't make sense to me but who knows what the writers were thinking of. Maybe they felt the Barnabas/Josette chemistry wasn't strong enough. I feel if KLS was given a little nudge they could have been the best. I still adore Barnbabas/Josette but even I have to admit KLS held back some. I saw their true potential and what they should have been together in one of the Dark Shadows movies (can't remember which one).
