I call your attention to Angelique's line: "If he dies, there'll never be a way to remove the curse."   [spoiler]Yet in 1840......[/spoiler]

Great moment/acting, when Barnabas turns to A and says, sweatily and semi-deliriously: "You'll never find her now!"   He got the gravity of the moment across very well, plus just acting as if you're ill and feverish must be an accomplishment in itself.

Another reason to believe there was a serious reworking of the relationship between Angelique and the devil after she[spoiler]took sides against the Leviathans.[/spoiler]

The retake of the curse is just as good as the first time, IMO. I couldn't choose between them.

Not for the last time, Ben comes to the rescue. Fabulous scene between him and Angelique.

Another great JF moment when Barnabas is raving but still recognizes and hates Angelique.

Slight nudity: Barnabas's shirt is open at the throat about THREE buttons' worth--no chest hair--and of course he's in his stocking feet.

A retake and yet we still get the bat's shadow before it breaks through the window.

I was very impressed with Frid's screaming performance after the bite after the title. Don't know why, maybe because I've never seen him do that before? I could never be an actor. Kudo's to them all, even the bad ones.

Barn & Josette have a Corsican kind of love. Is there an explanation for Josette bleeding from her neck. Did I miss a spell? I'm serious. And why would the bat find/go to her at her current location? I am not understanding any of this. Should I be?

I don't ever recall ever seeing anyone come around from the side of the Old House as Ben did in this episode.  It was the most thrilling part of the episode.

I was wondering how Josette ended up back in Collinsport. Now I know. Romantic but stupid. Too bad Natalie doesn't have more control over Josette.

Angelique is sorry. Oh, okay. 

Ben: "I don't trust you as far as the door!" (You go Ben, lol.)

I liked Ange's stripped dress.

Ang's dress looks sort of Victorian to my totally ignorant eye, because it's uncolorful I guess.   Nice though.

Mr. Frid does the scream a couple of times in later years, but I think it's the context that made it greater here.   I agree though, anyone who can act at all is amazing to me-- just coming across as if you're speaking naturally is way beyond me.   I tried too, in some fan parody things.

I wonder what Corsican love entails.   No explanation for the bite on Josette-- we're just expected to accept that their connection through love is so strong that she feels his pain.  Not that they say this or anything.   She didn't seem to feel his strangulation... 

As for the inn bat, I think A was sending them out far and wide as her "eyes" to observe and search in this case for Josette, and one bat got lucky.

Yes, great screaming indeed! That can't be easy.

I sort of like Angelique's stripey dress, although I have no idea whether it is historically accurate. I wonder how she suddenly acquired a lady's wardrobe. Did she have a whole trousseau ready? And how did she get it from Martinique to Collinsport without anyone--like the countess--noticing?

And yes, what is Corsican love? And why indeed is Josette having sympathetic bleeding neck wounds? Are we supposed to infer that she and Barn are that close in spite of everything? Or does Angelique's curse have repercussions that she is unaware of? Or maybe the inn bat is the one that bit Barnabas?

I forgot about the 'eyes' thang Ange did. That is probably it.

Corsican love is in reference to the Corsican brothers and Barn being bit and Josette bleeding. Radar love was my second choice, lol.

I'll Google Corsican Brothers but don't expect to  get far before I have to quit (eyes).  A couple Corsicans figure into The Count of Monte Cristo, which I'm now nearing the end of on audio.

I really noticed the string on the bat today.  I really thought Angelique was dead as her purpose has run its course, so it was surprising to see her appear in the bedroom. The lighting on Jonathan was very good making him look much younger than they normally do with his lighting. Natalie only uses nine cards this time in her reading instead of a massive amount as she did in earlier episodes. Angeligue reveals that Barnabas will be the living dead if he loses his life.
