DarkLady, I think the lady whom you mentioned is Elizabeth's great-great-grandmother - two greats instead of one - having been the grandmother of Elizabeth's Collins grandfather.
But at the moment Josette is Elizabeth's great-grandmother, since David says Josette is his great-great-grandmother. I doubt, however, that the brooch belonged to Josette, since I think Josette's name would have snuck into the dialogue if that were the case, so I'm figuring Elizabeth was talking about one of the three other great-great-grandmothers that Joeytrom mentioned.
she tells David that it's an heirloom, and that her great-grandmother gave it to her when she turned eighteen.
Good heavens, I saved my post, then reread yours, and must add: Did Elizabeth really say that? Definitely not Josette, in that case. Or did Elizabeth say, "It was my great-grandmother's, and it was given to me when I was eighteen."?
I for one would never have suspected that deep within Willie's thuggish mind lurks a love of beauty.
Yes, it's surprising, isn't it? Karlen convinces me, but I still think: "Huh?" On the other hand...sparkly things are pretty nice.
