Dick Smith to Receive Honorary Oscar

My curiosity was piqued by this article  http://news.yahoo.com/academy-defends-winfrey-honorary-oscar-winner-231028098.html and was pleased to discover that in addition to OPRAH!, Dick Smith would be receiving an honorary Oscar.  Unfortunately, these awards are not part of the Oscar night broadcast, except for a short segment highlighting the award ceremony.  Still, it's great to see a DS person get an Oscar (even if it isn't The Divine One...).  [ghost_wink]

Interesting that they're giving him an honorary Oscar when he's already won one. But I suppose it's probably more of a career spanning type of deal. And he certainly deserves it.
