BABY BATS...
« on: October 13, 2002, 02:01:47 PM »
All Vampires. Werewolves, or Witches/Warlocks on the show were adults. Anyone think it may have been interesting to see a child as one of the above? The children were at times possessed. Could you see them taking the next step and  David bearing his fangs? Or would this be too controversial for the time?  Too far out? Discussion anyone?

Hi Vam :)
You may be forgetting about 3 monster children on DS.
Or do they count as only one because they were
the same child only at different ages? Anyway
the Leviathen kids. Remember how creepy that
Micheal was?

No, I did not forget about those brats...I kinda see them in a different context than a Vampire, etc. They reminded me of the OMEN child. As I recall they were indirectly responsible for harmful happenings. Like Michael, who requested Barnabas to "close Dr Hoffman's eyes permanently" in one episode.:O

I think it would have raised quite a stir Vam
a lot of people didn't like Claudia in "Interview
with a Vampire" she was far more creepy than the adults and i did find her age a little disturbing!

I think it might have been interesting to see what  both Henesy and Nickerson would do with a supernatural character.

I think they were quite progressive having David be homicidal without being possessed! Though I am also glad that they toned the character down some.

I have to agree that it would have been too disturbing for daytime tv at the time. The little girl in Interview came to my mind also. Very effective, but many people HATED the movie for it.

Hmmm....It might have been interesting but I don't think people would have gone for it.  The whole reason I hated Interview With A Vampire was, as others have mentioned, the whole child sexuality angle with Kirstin Dunst.  Although it made an interesting plot twist as she emotionally aged and didn't physically, it was still a bit sick for my taste.  And especially in the 60's, when television didn't have to go for shock value every five seconds to get ratings, it might have been too much.

I loved the first two Omen movies.  I hadn't thought of it but yes, Michael does remind me of Damien. Awfully creepy but effective.

I agree that the little girl in "interview" was too creepy. Maybe David and Amy could have played little ghosts as Sarah did without being too creepy. [scrm][scrm]
Afan, who doesn't go for real monster children.
Where are they getting these bodies, Mulder,  are they making them?
