Alright, thanks, DL... then I'm thinking of another possible Justin-Josette trip, later, at around the time when the pregnancy would have started to show, requiring months for the pregnancy to come to fruition without Bramwell or the rest of the family knowing.   Did Justin go then?

I don't think we know, but I think Josette says he was happy the baby was a girl after three boys.

I certainly don't condone Justin and Josette's affair and can understand why Julia would have wanted to keep it a secret from Flora....but the 1841 PT Julia reminds me a bit of 1897 Edward...they completely lack any understanding. They know (or think they know) what others are and what sins they have committed and feel they have every right to look down their nose at them (Julia) or pass judgment on them (Edward). Neither of them seem to have any understanding of one simple truth....nobody's 100 percent perfect, and good and evil isn't always so black and white.

Josette being Melanie's mother I don't feel was so horrible that Julia couldn't have told her the truth once Melanie was of age. Still Josette was at least allowed to see Melanie from time to time when she was groing up when Justin and Julia could have easily have forced her and Bramwell out of Collinwood and Collinsport.
