Various comments about Tuesday's shows
« on: September 11, 2002, 10:11:36 AM »
Supposedly the wolf has no recollection of his human life and takes whoever happens to be there as his victim.  The fact that he would run away upon seeing his sister is quite strange.

I know that Liz is in a state of shock over the wolf encounter, but since Julia had just told her about Amy's disappearance, it's hard to believe that she didn't connect the two - especially when Amy told her her name (I think Julia had mentioned the name).

When the show started, apparently David and his father had only recently moved back to Collinwood.  Presumably he had a more normal life before that.  But, when he told Amy that he was surprised that she wasn't afraid of the storm, that most girls would be, I was wondering how he'd know anything about it.  It wouldn't seem that he knew any girls, or any other boys, either.

Chris' living quarters - it looked like the same room in the inn that we saw him take the last time.  What happened to the clerk?  Wasn't there any police investigation?  Given the state of his room, wouldn't he be under suspicion?  He's still living there as though nothing had happened!

How does Julia do it?  All along it would seem that she has moved into Collinwood and spends almost all her time with Barnabas or doing things connected with him (the whole experiment business, etc.).  But, from her interactions with Amy, it would seem that she isn't just the head of Windcliff and giving instructions from afar, but has apparently been continuing her regular work.  She used to have to be up all night with Barnabas - how could she work without any sleep?  But now, Barnabas is "normal" - yet the things they do still seem to be mostly at night.

Night is when the action takes place at Collinwood and dear Julia wants to be part of the ACTION! Just remember the Doc has those uppers in her little black bag to do it...

I've long thought we should have a deep discussion about Julia's possible drug abuse. . .she **is** always on. . .sure we see her sleep sometimes but come on .. she's gotta be sticking her well manicured hand into her own black bag every once in a while.  So. . .first generation-DS Fans.  .what was the upper of choice back in the day, cuz she's on 'em.  .[emblgh]

Now as to the wolf running when he sees his sister. .i think its more innate than that. . while Amy wouldn't become  a werewolf.  .she is a **carrier** for lack of a better term and I'm certain werewolfs know their own kind when they see them. . .

I'm not a first generation fan, but I'm game.

It's an interesting topic really.  It might explain quite a bit of the character's behavior.  Maybe a fanfic there too.

Maybe it was her hideous coat that scared him off. Lime green is to werewolves what crosses are to vampires.

Perhaps David had playmates in Boston, where he takes frequent trips to. Also, it isn't clear where he, Laura and Roger lived, and he may have been enrolled in a public school at the time, or perhaps a private one.

I noticed that too, they really swept the whole thing under the rug. Possibly the werewolf ate Mr. Wells in his entirety, or disposed of his body so that nobody knew anything other than the man simply never showed up for work the next day.

I thought it rather odd that no one mentioned the demise of the desk clerk too!  At least Carolyn mentioned the untimely death of the barmaid, by an animal that jumped through the glass.

Even the ladies of the evening demise usually at least got a mention.

I find it fitting that Amy first spoke to Quentin on the disconnected phone since she is a distant relative.  I didn't connect this the first time through.

Looking forward to the day when Vicki is whisked back to the past!

I liked Julia99's suggestion that Amy is a carrier and Chris could sense his own kind.  Makes more sense than anything else!!

SPOILER...
I think it's a silver bracelet or something that Carolyn had that repelled him, and that's when Barnabas realized that the silver on his cane would also "do the trick."

I thought about that too and wondered if theres some kind of a strange bond there between the werewolf and his loved ones.

The reason why I say this is because in a future storyline when Quentin is the werewolf,  he is attacking Aristede when suddenly he stops in his tracks when he sees Petofi and doesn't attack him.  Petofi later explains that it's because he also was once cursed like Quentin and Quentin, as the werewolf seem to know this right away.

But what I don't get is this whole pentagram thing. Supposidly they see it in their next victims face,  so does that mean that everyone else whom they don't see it in is safe?

After Mr.Wells was killed we see him being dragged away. So Im assuming the werewolf disposed of the body elsewhere. As for Chris' room, I imagine he just cleaned it up when he transformed back.  Why we never heard anymore about the desk clerk is still a mystery to me.

Doesn't Amy also see a pentagram or something on people's faces?  So can she tell who is in danger or is it Chris's face she sees it on and knows he is troubled??  I can't really recall.

?!? ?!? Was Tom Jennings supposed to be a werewolf as well as a vampire?  It was never mentioned, but

when Magda cursed Quentin and all of his descendants, that would have included Tom, and the curse turned the descendants into werewolfs, did it not?[shadow=red,left,300]Afan[/shadow][evily]
Where are they getting these bodies, Mulder,  are they making them?

There's been a lot of speculation about that both recently and over the years.  If it wasn't an oversight by the writers, the only explanation I can think of (and it's unlikely given how much the boys resemble each other) is that Tom and Chris were half-brothers, Tom being the eldest. The curse would have descended through the women in Quentin's family so that Chris and Amy could inherit it from Mrs. Jennings II but not Tom, son of Mrs. Jennings I.

[hello][hello]As good an explanation as we need. That was probably it.  Since it was never mentioned that the boys were twins, (even though their grandmother, Lenore was a twin) that is plausible.
