Megan to Barnabas: "When [my sister] called, I told her I'd become terribly attached to the baby, but she made me give him back anyway."
She said this with a straight face!!
Carolyn to Alexander: "You and I will be seeing quite a lot of each other."
Just an hour later, Carolyn is packed and ready to leave town with her father. Way to get a little boy's hopes up!
Alex to Megan: "I'll work on my drarings."
The writing in this single ep seems to simultaneously rip off
The Dunwich Horor (its strange Wilbur Whateley develops at an accelerated rate) AND the 50s alien invasion movies. As Paul spoke to Liz of evil conspirators capable of mind control while unaware that she was a part of it, it felt very reminiscent of a few classics (
Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Invaders From Mars, It Came From Outer Space, I Married a Monster from Outer Space) in which main characters are unaware that their parents, their husband, their girlfriend, or their neighbors are no longer who they thought they were. Brrr.
