Anyone else catch part one last night? I was always surprised that DS never employed a Shirley Jacksonian Haunting-of-Hill-House storyline, since Curtis & Co. raided so many other classics. By the way, I didn't know that David Duke had gone to the great beyond. Must've happened right after they finished shooting.

I saw it, and it seems King even borrowed from some of his own stories as well as well as giving a nod to X-Files. Wonder if he makes a cameo appearance.

You mean David Dukes. I read that he had a fatal heart attack during filming and it was covered with a rewrite.

Oh, yes, Stephen King does make his cameo, Midnite! Hint: it has to do with pizza (it's always fun to look for him, kinda like trying to spot Hitchcock at the beginning of his films). I looked up some info on the miniseries on its official site, and it stated that David Dukes did pass during the filming and many of his lines during the quick rewrite were given to the mother of the nerdy guy.

I got nothing from that show - but the B5 Rangers movie was really good a couple of weeks ago!

Don't forget the cameo appearances by the great film director Martin Scorcese in such films as "Good Fellows" and "The King of Comedy." By the way, I'm very honored that the grandparents of Mr. Scorcese, actor Vincent Schiavelli (the ghost who shows Patrick Swayze how to move objects on the subway train in the flick entitled "Ghost"), and yours truly's grandpa, all emigrated from the same village in Sicily, Pollizzi Generosa (only a stones throw or, perhaps, a hand grenades throw from Palermo). Evidently, many "stolid" people left sunny Sicily for the husltle and bustle of the "Big Apple."

In addition, that renowned auteur, Spike Lee, acts in many of his films as well.

I didn't watch all of "Rose Red" - I kept falling asleep. So, when you mentioned David Dukes the name sounded familiar, but I couldn't place him. So I hopped over to imdb.com to try and figure it out. In the process I also found this kind of strange little point about his death.

Quote
His wife, Carol Muske, wrote a book titled Life after Death, where a woman upset at her husband for leaving her and child says to him "Why don't you just die?". The next day he dies of a heart attack on a tennis court. Shortly after the book was completed, David Dukes went to play tennis and died of a heart attack.
Kind of creepy, huh?
