I vote for Connie in the front seat. After all, the spectacle of seeing Quentin riding with a woman who wears a beard and sunglasses and carries a telephone around with her to call Julia at every opportunity is kinda priceless.

I don't think anyone mentioned one of my favorite totally impractical luxury cars - the Bentley.  Given some of the personality types to inhabit Collinwood I could see more than one of these beauties in various hues smugly gleaming (moonbeams or sunbeams depending on current storyline) outside the old manor house.  Possible owners would be Liz, Roger, Barnabas, or Nicholas.  Now, Burke Devlin would have had the means to be a Bentley owner but being new money he would have no doubt chosen something a bit less sedate but still obviously expensive.  I'm thinking a Porsche or Mercedes convertible.  I can see Carolyn in a top of the line Mustang convertible, Maggie driving her father's beat up Olds Delta 88 (as she saves up for a Celica), Vicki in a little green Carmenghia and Willie chugging along in a cheesy little Corvair in need of a paint job (and wrecking ball).  It wouldn't really matter what kind of car Jeff/Peter drove as long as it had a really big rearview mirror so he could check the hair every other mile or so.  Julia would have something solid, practical and unassuming nothing specific is coming to mind but I think it would be either an Oldsmobile or Ford sedan.  Finally, I can see Adam peddling furiously around the Old House on a gigantic Big Wheel making really loud engine noises and pretending to crash occasionally as he waits for Julia and the gang to finish putting all his mate's parts in the right places.

P.S. Please excuse me if some of these cars did not exist between 1966 and 1971 - my knowledge of cars is limited mostly to the ones I've owned and loved (Honda), been burned by (Corvair, Ford) and the few I've lusted after (Bentley, Mercedes - hey, if you're going to dream - dream BIG!)[aprvy]

Excellent choice, Castle Bee....but I think the only person on the show who had enough class to carry off the Bentley would have been Prof. Stokes.

Hubby and I have had everything from a Chevette to a Corvette (with Pick-up trucks and a MiniVan included) and the only car I ever lusted after was the black MGB I decided NOT to buy....proving you never regret the things you DO so much as the things you DON'T.

Oh, Mark! Now you've done it! You should have never have called her Constance! But, maybe in your case, she might make an exception.

It wouldn't really matter what kind of car Jeff/Peter drove as long as it had a really big rearview mirror so he could check the hair every other mile or so.

....or as long as he was standing IN FRONT of it, any car model would be fine with me :P

you guys don't get Julia. . .she would have a 4-drawer luxury car, I mean she IS a doctor. . .I think a Chrysler New Yorker or a Mercedes sedan .. . it would be dark blue or grey, understated yes but mindful of the fact that she's got BUCKS!! I refer you all to her chestload of jewelry, many matching coats, purses and gloves. . . she was into accessories. . .

Well Mark,
You're certainly welcome to try, but I believe the conversation might be rather one-sided.
It seems Julia has succeeded in convincing the phone company to disconnect me.
