I googled on The Lycanthrope of Angers, and although I didn't find any book by the title, I did find Jacques Roulet, who claimed during a trial in Angers in 1598 that he could change himself into a wolf.  I wonder where Julia got her book from.  It didn't look new, so did she go to the Collinsport Public Library and check for lycanthropy in their card catalog?

By the way, Barnabas is asking a lot of Julia.  When she started work on a cure for Barnabas, it was something she had thought about for years, and blood was clearly involved.  She doesn't know anything of the sort about werewolves, and she's starting from scratch, reading about a mental case from nearly four centuries ago.

I am impressed with the props department.  Over a year and a half after they produced the "Local Girl Disappears" newspaper when Barnabas kidnapped Maggie, they pulled it out for Chris to use today.  Nothing was ever lost or thrown out, apparently.

This was the first time Beth spoke, and the first time Beth appeared to others besides Amy and David.

It was cute when David kept asking Chris questions. He just seemed like a normal kid. David unwittingly gave Quentin an opportunity to poison Chris's drink. 

I am surprised that, at first, Barnabas thought Carolyn was walking down the stairs, instead of Beth. Beth was much taller than Carolyn.

I love it when supernatural characters (especially ghosts and Angelique) stepped out of the shadows. It made it seem like they just appeared, when in reality, they were just waiting in the dark shadows for the right cue to step up and be seen.

I wonder if DS exaggerated the effects of poison. When people on DS took poison, it usually took effect very quickly. Does that happen in real life?

I think it's very commendable of Julia to read up on lycanthropy in an effort to help Chris. Julia and Barnabas were a real team now, trying to do good. She thought it was dangerous, but her love for Barnabas allowed her to agree to it. It was really neat that Barnabas wanted to help Chris and felt a camaraderie with him.

In strychnine poisoning, it unfortunately does.  Severe and extremely painful spasms begin within minutes after ingestion yet the victim remains fully conscious.  One wonders if it was Quentin's intent to murder Chris with the cruelest method available to him.  Though it was an interesting twist that Chris first thought he was undergoing a transformation.
