The opening voiceover amused me: "Nothing going at Collinwood, but don't worry, folks, we can find trouble elsewhere."
Nicholas told Angelique twice today, talking about Joe: "He needs you as much as you need him." That interested me, because I don't think it has ever been explicitly stated before on the series that the vampire victim needs the vampire, and looking at Joe, I'm wondering if it's true. The male victims always act so much less needy than the female victims. That's the 60s for you. If they did Dark Shadows today, I hope they would have a male victim on his knees before his vampire (male or female, who cares which?) begging to be bled dry.
I've been planting stuff in my yard lately, so when Willie was digging up that grave and we heard the shovel hitting stones, I suddenly thought: "Where are the roots?" There was a tree right nearby, and you can bet Willie couldn't dig down to the body without cutting a few roots. I suppose that in this case the answer is that it must have been a freshly dug grave, but you know something? Even when they're digging a new grave, nobody gets his knees dirty getting down to clip roots. I think I want to move to Collinsport.
