All right, now I don't mean to be rude, but Vicki is acting really dumb in this episoe. I realize she's trying to reassure Barnabas by telling him that Josette will arrive safely, but come on, she's making herself look suspicious to say the least. She can't even offer Barnabas an explanation for her reasons.

I felt a bit sorry for Angelique, having to walk quite some distance from the stalled carriage to the house with it storming so terribly. I realize she's a maid and that such menial tasks are expected of her, but I still felt a little bad for her.

Joshua was so irritated by the countess, and I think Naomi's lack of reaction to her infuriated him all the more. The countess wouldn't be someone I'd want as a houseguest, pleasing her would be near to impossible.

Enter Angelique.  Right now I don't feel the least bit of pity for her.  She clearly threw herself at Barnabas, and if there was any deception involved, it was her own deception of herself.  Still, the whole business is rather nicely set up, with enough ambiguity to keep the viewers interested.  I'm glad we never saw what actually took place in Martinique.

I had forgotten how gloriously rude Countess Dupres is.  I myself like the furniture in the living room of the Old House in 1795, so clearly I have appallingly bad taste.

Golly how strange to see Joshua raising the flag for democracy!

We see in Barnabas's bedroom a chair that, in 1967, is in the living room of the Old House.  The upholstery is exactly the same. Willie must have a devil of a time reproducing it.

I liked this show.  I wonder now one thing.  Why didn't Barnabas just buy her off, or keep her as a mistress of sorts.  Angelique would have still had the station that she wanted. Back then wasn't it the manner for men to have mistresses.  Would Angelique  have accepted  that.?  Could have Barnabas  got her connected to someone else.

I do not feel sorry for Angelique either.  Angelique could have gone after Jeremiah, then she could have run Collinwood  and even had a bigger house.  I love Natalie, Grayson always did so great with the character. I would love to have seen this in color. It has already been said about

Vickie doing dumb things, like trying to tell  Barnabas that  Josette was going to be OK, specially after Abigail wants to prove her a witch.  ???

I thought I should clarify my previous post. I don't feel sorry for Angelique as a person, but only because she was made to walk in such a storm. As for Angelique, no I don't feel sorry for her, after all, she brought so much grief to the Collins family.

So, this was the introduction of Angelique! [cheer] Too bad the color version of this episode is lost, and we have to see this in black and white! [sadg] I don't feel sorry for Angelique, either. I agree with Robin, it seems silly that Barnabas was turned into a vampire just because of a love affair with Angelique! Angelique is one bitchy witch! [witch]

I loved Natalie - GH did a great job with her! What a refreshing change from Julia! [cheer]

I loved Grayson as the Countess....now that is one woman who's not afraid to speak her mind, or offer an opinion on something. She was hilarious today.

Although Joshua held his tongue, one can sense he was put off by her opinionated views. And yes Naomi's couldn't-care-less-about-it attitude didn't make him feel any better. Clearly Joshua is not a man who can let snide remarks roll of his back.

Vicki should have said "I'm sure nothing has happened" instead of "nothing has happened" when trying to reassure Barnabas of Josette's safety. Clearly Vicki has forgotten that old saying "think before you speak"...and it will only get worse for her as time goes on.

I agree, Angelique should have just cut her losses as far as Barnabas was concerned. He was honest to her about the fact he didn't want to pick up where they left off....but Angelique is just not one to take no for an answer.
