Joan Bennett seemed to have trouble with slapping Jerry Lacy today. It didn't look real, and she bungled her lines before and after it.
I used to feel bad for Trask when Barnabas went after him. I don't anymore. Trask has fallen from grace, and when he called upon the Almighty as he was being terrorized, I thought to myself: "You're not on speaking terms with the Almighty anymore!"
The skeleton's head in the mirror was a beautifully done image, I thought.
I love the fireplace in Trask's room. All that brick, and the ledge to sit on, and the fire irons and the bellows (bellows? is that the right word?), and I think there's a bedwarmer. But I keep wondering: "Why did the innkeeper make Trask sleep in the kitchen?" Because that looks like a kitchen set-up to me. The smaller opening to the right of the main fireplace is surely an oven. But maybe it's the 1795 version of having a microwave oven in your hotel room.
