Can't Angelique see what she herself is doing?  She told Ben she wanted Barnabas to love her of his own free will - but today she manipulated Barnabas into agreeing to marry her out of shame, not love.  She told Barnabas that all she wanted was to make him happy - but she knows he is in agony over losing Josette, something that she herself caused to happen.  She's lying to herself as well as to the rest of the world, and no good can come of that.  The devil has his hooks into her good and proper.

I like Josette's...um...over-the-nightgownwear.  It's obviously got an elegant name, but I'm not good at elegant names for the loungewear of ladies.  Anyway, I like it, even though I don't want to, because it's so silly.  It's never going to keep her warm; all it does is to make her presentable to members of the household, but the multiple purple pleats around the neck please my eye.

I recited the cut-and-paste part of the opening voiceover with Lara Parker.  It passes the time.

Angelique did some of her best manipulations in this episode when she got Barnabas to agree to marry her. It was fun to watch, but I hate her!  [vryangg] She only thought about herself - she was in denial about  Barnabas. She wanted to make him happy, but she had already taken Josette and Jeremiah away from him - which made him very sad. [cryg]

I could tell Angelique was biting her tongue with Joshua. She couldn't say and do what she really wanted to. For once, she was not in control! It was quite obvious that Angelique wanted Barnabas for love, and not money. That would be admirable for anyone but her, because  she used all those spells to get what she wanted and didn't care about the people she hurt.  [Witch_Potion_Animated]

Spoiler ahead:

Poor Jeremiah, he didn't deserve to die, especially for something that wasn't even his fault. This was such a sad episode. Even though he wasn't on DS very long, I always liked Jeremiah very much. I will miss him.  :( :'(

I think that Barnabas agreed to marry Angelique out of honor and his love for  Sarah.  I don't think that he really cares at this point if he is happy.  He certainly couldn't face his mother, Naomi.

Angelique agreed to marry him as he was, why didn't she stick to that. I still think that she just wanted the position of being a rich mans wife.

I have to make a comment here about Dan Curtis and his stenginess.  Why wasn't Joshua at his own brothers bedside??  I wonder where Vicki is hiding now?
