I was surprised to see Angelique admitting defeat.  I would have thought that she would be busy whipping up some spell or summoning some dead guy to undo what she had done, but no, she was throwing in the towel.  What is she planning to do?  Will she mourn Barnabas for the rest of her life, or will she find some other poor sucker to fixate on?

Josette was beautiful as she planned to wait for Barnabas at Collinwood for the rest of her life, if need be.  I felt that she would be very happy doing that.  Angelique had the picture of devoted, unselfish love before her in the person of Josette, but she never got the message.  Angelique was a hard worker; there were no complaints about her work as a maid, and she learned all the voodoo perfectly - but she could not learn how to love.

What a wonderful put-down from Joshua to Angelique - "That, Madam, I shall never forget."  And Louis Edmonds knew just how to deliver it.

As Robin said, this episode was the first time the word vampire was uttered on DS, by Angelique.

It's quite honorable for Josette to wait for Barnabas, but realistically, in the real world, he would never come back. Of course, this is DS, so dead people do come back!  

It was cute how Ben told Angelique "he never uttered a word" about her being the witch!

So Joshua was finally able to pay Angelique to leave town. But she never really left, did she?

I very much enjoyed the hushed tone in which KLS delivered the voice-over.

I hated the way Joshua was so cold and rude to Ben. I realize he has his grief to deal with, but Ben didn't deserve to be treated in such a harsh way, especially since he only wanted to grieve for Barnabas. 

Despite her brief marriage to Barnabas, Angelique doesn't get treated like a lady, at least not where Joshua is concerned. That still seems to be her driving motive, to be in the upper class of society, and she seems  jealous of not attaining that status after all her planning and scheming.
