Interesting. Lesley Gore's "You Don't Own Me" came out in 1963, as did Betty Friedan's The Feminine Mystique.

(And actually, while by no means to the same extent it originally applied to men who dominated their women, nowadays it could work for both sexes because there are certainly more than a few controlling women who want to, uh, "mold" their men...)
